Here are some notes to help you find your way around our hall and its facilities:

Lights:  As well as the main ceiling lights, which can be dimmed/brightened, there are lighting tubes concealed under the wooden frieze around the main hall which give a very pleasing effect. They are operated by a switch on the second row of the panel just inside the double doors from the main foyer.

Heating:  The radiators in the Main Hall & Jessop Room are controlled separately from individual thermostatic controls positioned on the wall of the respective areas, and you are welcome to turn them up or down or off if you want to. Please do not try to change the settings on individual radiators.

Ventilation:  There are separate controls for the extractor fans, inside the main doors to the hall and in the lounge area. There are sliding controls for these, which allow users to suck air into the hall, or extract air from the hall as desired. To the left of them is a master On/Off switch.

Tables:

Main Hall - There are 24 folding tables, 6’ x 2’3”, which are stored on trolleys in the store just to the rear of the Red Arrows Bar seating area. One trolley holds 16 tables, and the other 8, you will find table movement much easier if you open both of the double doors to the storeroom and wheel the trolleys out, before removing the tables.  For safety, there are brakes and straps on each trolley, please use them. Putting the tables up is easy, just unfold the legs. There is a plastic tool retained in a clip on the back of the storeroom door to help to push the ‘cross bar’ from the holders towards the outside edge of the tables, allowing the legs to fold. This can be done by a squeezing action too. There are also 15 square tables, 3' x 2'3" similar in design to the largers ones, along with 10 similar brightly coloured low level children's tables in the storeroom.

Jessop Room - There are 4 folding tables, 6’ x 2’3”, along with 10 square tables, 3' x 2'3" similar in design to the largers ones held in the Jessop Room Store. There is a plastic tool retained in a clip on the back of the storeroom door to help to push the ‘cross bar’ from the holders towards the outside edge of the tables, allowing the legs to fold. This can be done by a squeezing action too.

Chairs:

Main Hall - There are 78 stacking chairs stored in the store located alongside the Red Arrows Bar seating area. They should be stacked a maximum of 6 high for safety reasons, and there is a chair trolley to help transport them to the area they are required.  Hirers should avoid dragging the stacks of chairs across the floor, as it scratches and damages the wooden flooring.

Jessop Room - There are 30 stacking chairs stored in the Jessop Room Store, and They should be stacked a maximum of 6 high for safety reasons, and there is a chair trolley to help transport them to the area they are required.

Projector Screens:  There are permanently mounted pull down Projector Screens in both The Main Hall, and in the Jessop Room.

Staging:  There is some portable staging available in sections 4’ Square (maximum of 15 Squares). It is possible to use a few or all of them in various configurations. There is a charge for use of the staging, which includes erection before a booking, and dismantling after the booking, so if you would like to make use of the stage, you will need to arrange this with the Booking Clerk.

Kitchen:  There is a 100 piece willow patterned dinner service, which you are welcome to use, subject to it being washed, dried and carefully stowed away again. It is stored in cupboards under the serving counter. To be fair to other users, if any breakages occur you should inform the Booking Clerk.

If you need to use the cooker please make sure that it is switched off after use and left in a clean condition.

There are a limited number of tea towels which you can use, and they should be left in a neat pile for the village hall cleaner to attend to, but you may wish to bring your own if you think you will need a lot.

There are several wheelie bins outside the kitchen door which you can use. Please ensure you put the appropriate material into the correct bin.

Toilets:  In addition to the ladies, gents and disabled toilets located off the Main Foyer, there is another disabled toilet located off the Rear Foyer at the opposite end of the hall. Coat pegs are available in each cloakroom.

Baby Changing Facilities:  There is a baby changing platform, and nappy bin located in the Disabled Toilet off the Main Foyer.

The bar is run by the Community owned Duke of Wellington Public House in the village. If the Red arrows Bar is booked, then hirers need to be aware that they need get approval from The Duke of Wellington should they wish to bring in any of their own alcohol.  If the Red Arrows Bar is not booked, and a hirer would like to provide an alcoholic drink at no charge to their guests, or would like their guests to be allowed to bring in alcohol for their own consumption, then they need to write/email a request to the Booking Clerk detailing exactly what they would like to do, and why they do not want to use the Red Arrows Bar, at least 2 months before their booking, so the request can be put to the Leasingham Village Hall Trustees for approval at one of their bi monthly meetings.

Tidying Up:  Please remember that you are responsible for clearing up and tidying the kitchen if you have made use of it, and for wiping down and putting away any tables & chairs you have used.  You are not expected to mop the floor at the end of your event, but you are expected to remove all rubbish and brush up/hoover any mess that has been made during your booking, unless you have elected to take up the cleaning option.
